Tra Vinh exports 1 ton of red flesh dragon fruits to the U.S
(MARD - 08/05/2014) Duc My Cooperative (Tra Vinh) said it has successfully exported a ton of red flesh dragon fruits to the U.S at a price of VND24,000 per kilo. The My Duc-Tra Vinh branded product started to be a favourite in the US market.
The US has another order with the Cooperative for purchasing additional two tons of the fruits due to be shipped in May.
The trademark and quality of the Tra Vinh province’s red flesh dragon fruits are recognized to meet the standards for export by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The Tra Vinh Department of Science and Technology is assisting Duc My Cooperative members in getting the VietGap certificate for their products.
Tra Vinh has more than 65ha of red flesh dragon fruits mainly grown in Cang Long, Chau Thanh, Cau Ke, and Cau Ngang districts with annual output of over 1,000 tons, of which the Duc My commune (Cang Long district) accounts for more than 30 ha.
